Paul is a puppy dog. Try not to kick him when he talks.
More About Paul
Background Info
22 years old.
Programmer working for Mary.
Been with TLA for one year.
This is his first job coming out of college.
He was a great performer on the Web Framework Initiative before moving to DFI.
Plans to spend all of October waiting in line for the new iWatch. He has to get one.
Paul is single and very TLA-spirited.
Disposition
Paul is outgoing, friendly, and seems to know everyone in TLA—regardless of level, location, studio, or project.
He loves to talk. He loves to talk through every issue, problem, and cool idea he has. Boy, does he love to talk.
Have we mentioned that he loves to talk?
Paul is empathic, and sensitive to others’ needs.
He has an improvisational side.
He’s a pretty good programmer. Knows what he is doing.
While he does need direction, and perhaps enhanced skill, he certainly doesn’t lack confidence.
Sometimes, he will shut down if he doesn’t get the reason or value of a task.
He will also shut down if he doesn’t feel heard. He’s been doing that a lot more lately.
Under stress he tends to get snarky.
Some of his co-workers love him. Others are utterly annoyed by him. One team member working for Kay has already talked assassination.
Work
Paul has been on DFI since the beginning.
He requires more daily supervision and direct mentorship than you’d like to provide—or have the time to provide.
Paul wants to move up to become a Lead. He has no awareness of his current skills versus what it would take to be one.
Overall, he isn’t doing as well with DFI as he did previously. Not sure why.
